Pip: BoSt Dragon Stories is back, and this week the story delivers exactly what the title promises — a dragon, an encounter, and a rescue that involves freezing breath, a binding spell on an outhouse, and one very disoriented young woman.
Mara: BoSt Productions brings us deep into Part 8 of the Dragon Longze and Freya arc — a chapter where captivity, a supernatural battle, and a quiet moment of recognition all land in the same night. Let’s start with the encounter itself.
Dragon Longze Meets Freya at Last
Pip: Part 8 is the payoff chapter — Freya is held, a hidden warrior is watching, a dragon is incoming, and the question is whether the plan holds together long enough to actually save her.
Mara: The setup makes clear just how precarious Freya’s position is. Before the rescue even begins, Loki has already stripped her of her own will: “he simply flicked his little finger at her. At that instant she found that she was no longer in control of her will, and therefore, began to sing, though, mournfully, for that was what was in her heart, as her tears cascaded down her cheeks.”
Pip: So the enemy doesn’t even need to threaten her directly — he just redirects her. That’s a different kind of menace than brute force, and it makes the stakes feel personal rather than just physical.
Mara: And watching all of it from outside, hidden in the shadows, is Immortal Erland. He’s already identified Sedit — who goes by Loki here — as the demon he has long sought to destroy, and he’s waiting on Dragon Longze before he moves.
Pip: The outhouse gambit is genuinely elegant, as battle tactics go. Erland waits for Sedit to step away, binds him with a spell, then charges the main hall. Tactically sound. Cosmically poetic.
Mara: It works — until it doesn’t. The Bull Demons regroup fast, and Erland is outnumbered. That’s the precise moment Dragon Longze arrives from above, in dragon form, and the post describes the assembled forces of Heaven literally pausing to watch.
Pip: Longze can’t use fire — the enslaved humans are being used as shields — so he uses his freezing breath instead. The story is careful to show that power here has limits, and that those limits are moral ones.
Mara: After the battle, Freya is found unconscious in the cellar, having missed everything. When she’s brought back up, she’s surrounded by aftermath she can barely process. The post captures her state plainly — she remained “in a state of shock and confusion for a long while.”
Pip: And then Longze, now in human form and somehow in immaculate white, walks her to a cliff overlooking a moonlit lake. As rescue debriefs go, the setting is doing a lot of work.
Mara: Recognition comes slowly — she remembers him from the cabin, remembers her father’s words in a dream telling her to trust him. And then Longze speaks: “Don’t be afraid! Please be calm, for you are now safe! I am no stranger to you, I am Longze.”
Pip: Eight parts in, and that’s the line. Quiet, direct, and earned.
Mara: The chapter also closes out Erland’s arc — he transports the survivors, retrieves one or two personal items from his earthly home, then erases the entire dwelling with a spell and returns to Heaven. Guardian Asmund, watching from a distance throughout, notes that Erland and Longze make an invincible team, and files that away for future use.
Pip: Which means the story isn’t done with either of them — just with this particular night.
Mara: Part 8 lands the rescue, closes Erland’s chapter, and ends on Freya beginning to find her footing again.
Pip: Longze still has a lot of explaining to do — and apparently, a future mate already selected for him somewhere in the Heavenly court. Next time, the story gets more complicated.
